What Is a QR Code Generator?
A QR code generator turns text - a URL, a Wi-Fi password, contact details, or any short message - into a scannable square barcode that any modern phone camera can read instantly. Our free QR code generator builds the code entirely in your browser using the Canvas API: nothing you type is ever uploaded, and the resulting PNG is yours to use however you like, with no expiry and no tracking.

How to Use the QR Code Generator
- Enter your text or URL into the box above.
- Pick a size depending on where you'll use it - larger for print, smaller for screens.
- Choose an error correction level. Use High (H) if you plan to place a logo over the middle of the code.
- Adjust colors if you want the code to match your branding - just keep good contrast so it still scans reliably.
- Click Download PNG once you're happy with the preview.
Understanding Error Correction Levels
QR codes can still scan correctly even if part of the pattern is damaged, dirty, or covered - that's what error correction is for. Low (L) recovers about 7% of damaged data and produces the least dense pattern. Medium (M) recovers about 15% and is a solid default for most uses. Quartile (Q) recovers about 25%. High (H) recovers about 30% and is the right choice if you plan to overlay a logo in the center of the code, at the cost of a visually denser pattern.
Who Uses QR Codes?
Marketers put QR codes on flyers, posters, and packaging to link straight to a website, menu, or landing page without anyone typing a URL.
Small businesses generate a code linking to their Google Business review page, menu, or booking link for tables, receipts, and storefronts.
Event organizers print QR codes on tickets and signage linking to schedules, maps, or check-in forms.
Anyone sharing Wi-Fi can encode a network name/password so guests scan instead of typing it in.
Why Use Our Free QR Code Generator?
No signup, no limits. Generate as many codes as you need, with no account and no watermark on the file.
Private by design. Everything is generated on your device - what you type into the box is never uploaded, logged, or stored on our servers.
No expiry, no middleman link. Some "free" QR generators route your code through their own short link, which can break if their service ever shuts down. Ours encodes your text or URL directly, so it keeps working forever.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this QR code generator really free?
Yes — completely free, unlimited, no signup, and no watermark on the downloaded PNG.
Is what I type uploaded to a server?
No. The QR code is generated entirely in your browser. Whatever text or link you enter never leaves your device.
Do these QR codes expire or stop working?
No. The QR code encodes your text or link directly - there is no tracking redirect and no account tied to it, so it never expires on our end.
What does the error correction level do?
It controls how much of the code can be damaged or obscured (for example by a logo overlay) while still scanning correctly. Higher levels (Q, H) are more resilient but produce a slightly denser pattern.
