Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-07-07

This page is a general-purpose template, not legal advice. If you're running this site publicly or commercially, have a lawyer review it against the laws that apply to you (e.g. GDPR, CCPA) before relying on it.

What data we collect

WebTools is designed to need as little personal data as possible:

  • A visitor cookie - a random ID (no name, email, or account required) so your own scraper jobs, invoices, and audit history show up separately from other visitors' data. It contains no personal information by itself.
  • Data you enter into a tool - for example, a URL you scrape, an invoice's client details, an email list you validate, or a blog post you submit. This is stored so you can come back and see your own history.
  • Contact form submissions - if you use the Contact page, your name, email, and message are stored so the site admin can respond.
  • An admin session cookie - only created for the site owner after logging into the Admin Panel; regular visitors never get one.

Where your data is stored

Everything is stored in a local database on the server this site runs on - not shared with, sold to, or synced with any third-party data broker.

Third-party services

Some tools call outside services only when the site owner has explicitly configured them to:

  • The Email Spam Checker's optional AI rewrite feature sends the email text to OpenAI or Anthropic, only if the site owner has added their own API key in Settings.
  • If the site owner enables ads (e.g. Google AdSense), that ad network may set its own cookies and collect data per its own privacy policy.
  • The Website SEO Audit tool makes requests to the website URL you ask it to check - that target site may log the visit like any normal visitor.

Your choices

You can clear your visitor cookie at any time by clearing your browser's cookies for this site - a new, separate history will start from scratch. To request that stored data tied to your submissions be reviewed or removed, use the Contact page.
